
Phillip W. Powers – Lighting, Scenic & System Designer
A graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.A. in Theater: Design and Production, and of Southern Methodist University with a MFA in Stage Design.
Working as a freelance entertainment designer since the early 2000’s, Phillip has designed and assisted on over 100 productions spanning the Theatre, Opera, Dance, and Live Music genres.
In 2012, in collaboration with Theodore J. Gordon, Phillip founded Luna Lux LLC in Laguna Niguel, CA. Since its founding he has designed a wide variety of corporate events and activations including several large conventions.
In 2015 Phillip joined forces with Taylor Cole and Austin Quan to help found Burble Creativity in Riverside, CA. As Burble’s visual director, Phillip assisted in developing immersive environments, neuroscience-backed narratives, and consumer products.
In 2020 Phillip worked in the applications department at Signify, Vari-Lite Strand, In Dallas TX. Through system design and applications engineering roles, he expanded his scope of work into architectural lighting and new venue installations.
Additionally in 2020 Phill was recognized as one of the finalists in the Hog Factor Competition, along with being selected to design the new Vari-Lite VL800 series fixture demo video.
In early May 2021, Phillip completed a two month project as an associate fountains designer and programmer on the nighttime spectacular ONCE with Quantum Creative Studios at VinWonders in Phú Quốc Vietnam. Following the project Phill transitioned into the role of Manager of Design and Technology for Quantum Creative Studios and Luce Group. While in this role oversaw the technical design staff and procurement/installation subcontractors for the Quantum Creative Studios and the Luce Group brands on projects worldwide.
In 2023 Phillip returned full time to Luna Lux LLC to oversee the transition to their new nationwide shipping warehouse in Denton TX, and the expansion of the Design & Systems departments
